Founder Focus

Founder Focus

I have been working side-by-side with business founders, providing leadership support and top-level strategy, for 25 years. I offer a thousand-foot view to help guide entrepreneurs achieve their objectives as business evolves, consistent with their vision and their values.

I help founders organize amongst themselves at the outset, and as the company grows, I help them prioritize in the face of competing demands, recognize and avoid potential pitfalls and seize opportunities to grow.

Among the greatest challenges to founders is taking on funding and selling. What many founders don’t know: whether in-house counsel or from an outside firm, the company’s lawyer cannot ethically represent both the company and the founder because of the inherent conflict of interest. Founders often fail to engage their own counsel, so no one represents the founder’s unique and critical interests.

At the start, through growth phases and a sale, I am the lawyer at the table, representing the founder’s interest and no one else’s.

With a client list that reads like a who’s who of the fashion world, New York lawyer Betsy Pearce is the consummate industry insider. Her ability to navigate the process of placing value on creativity has positioned her as one of the most sought after advisors in the business.
